ABOUT US

farmstead_panorama.jpg

Farmstead Alliance, a nonprofit corporation, was formed in 2004 to preserve, rehabilitate, and maintain the Colonial-era Farmstead in the center of Boileau Park located at 2668 Byberry Rd, in Upper Moreland Township, just outside Hatboro, Pa.

The organization, formerly known as Friend of Boileau, has raised tens of thousands of dollars since its incorporation for the four historic structures, each with their own unique set of issues. As we remain in a critical stabilization phase, we look forward to moving the Farmstead into the preservation and restorative phases in the very near future.

We support Upper Moreland Township in preserving and providing a distinct public space and experience for the community. We work collectively to promote the cultural and historic significance of the site and the educational opportunities it affords to the community. The Farmstead and its environs can promote wellness in our community, enrich our lives, and instill community pride.

Our group endeavors to ...

  • lead and steward historic preservation,

  • improve an historical asset,

  • build strong partnerships, and

  • make a positive impact in the community.

Current Board of Directors:

  • Alan Sentman, President

  • Moureen Wenik, Vice President

  • Kevin C. Hoke, Treasurer

  • Bonnie MacDonald, Secretary

  • Mark Wenik

The historic structures had been in various states of neglect since the early 1980s due to deferred maintenance leading up to the turn of the millennium.

Today, we are in the process of stabilizing and endeavoring to put necessary plans together to preserve and maintain the buildings for future use.

We are looking to find new ways to interpret the spaces while preserving the past and to serve today's community.
